Soak in these words from Revelation and respond to the Lord’s invitation to come up higher, above the maelstrom of personal challenges and competing politics.
With so many issues pressing in on our hearts and minds, I thought it would be a great blessing to soak in this lovely Taizé chant, and to make it a deep-seated cry for the Lord to visit us in mercy and power. He loves to reach the parts no one else knows about, and which no other pleasure or therapy can ever fully reach!
And as the Lord refreshes our hearts and informs our minds, may He swivel our gaze to the particular people, places and situations that He would have us share His heart for, and to lift to Him in prayer.
Free us, Lord, (libera nos) so that You can free them (libera eos) – whoever those people places and situations are) as we do so.
Listen, too, to this exquisite version of this song, which is taken from our Encounter album.
And then, here is a really moving version of another well-known Taizé chant, O Lord, hear my prayer, which again is fuel and food for our prayers.
