“I am telling you this now so that your faith in Me may not be shaken. The time is coming when anyone who kills you will think and claim that they are offering a service to God. They will act like this because they have never had any true knowledge of the Father or of Me, but I have told you all this so that when the time comes for it to happen you may remember that I told you about it.” (John 16:1-4)
We have prepared this presentation to remember and to honour all who are holding true to the Lord in even the most dangerous situations. May it be an inspiration to pray for the many who find themselves in such a parlous position – as well as for the many who are traumatised by the loss of loved ones, or deeply unsettled as violence flares in one country after another.
We are taking as our starting point words that Kayla Mueller (an aid worker from the United States whom ISIL had kidnapped in Syria) wrote in a letter that reached her family, before she was killed in uncertain circumstances. It seems clear from her letter that something profound happened to Kayla during her long months of imprisonment.
The scene shifts to honour the 21 brave Coptic Christians whom ISIL beheaded – and continue to pray for both Syria and Egypt at this important time. The pictures used in the video were taken just moments before these brave Christians were killed.
The opening piece of music is by the English composer Gustav Holst. This then merges into part of a longer piece of music that I wrote with Justin Coldstream on behalf of Christians imprisoned in the notorious Evin prison in Iran. This particular section includes our reworking of a beautiful Czech folk lullaby.
As we were preparing the text for this presentation, my computer suddenly announced (loudly!): “A threat has been detected!” just as the ISIL pictures were showing. Even computers can be prophetic!

As I reading your Malvern Marshall today (21/2/15)and the prophetic sentence your computer gave out I was reminded of the news report I had listened to last night where the fact that Niagra Falla has been frozen over and the ‘cold snap’ over Los Angeles and parts of American . It was said that the cold and freezing air is coming from Russia and as that was said I had an immediate ‘knowing’ that is what is happening in the spirit realm and the pending ‘cold finger’ danger from Russia to rest of the world which will I believe is about to manifest.
Prayer : Father we know perilous times have come and will come as prophesied , but we pray for your covering and protection for all who stand on and are called by your name.
