Unlocking what need not be in Lockdown (Part 2)
Unlocking what need not be in lockdown (Part 2)
Jesus told us that, if we are praying and we hold anything against anyone, we are to forgive them, ‘so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.’ (Mark 11:25) I love the King James Version: ‘If you hold ought against any . . .’ It is a phrase to savour and to allow the Holy Spirit to apply.
I was preparing for a time of ministry recently when the Lord brought certain people to mind who I had long since forgotten all about, but who I had looked somewhat askance at, and held at a distance. In allowing these memories to surface the Lord had something far-reaching in mind. He showed me that, where I thought I had been exercising discernment and taking proper note of flaws in their character, His feelings towards them did not tally with mine in the least. Jesus saw these people as being truly men of faith, and He required that I should bless them. Needless to say, I was convicted and duly obeyed! What is more, in the great kindness of God, as I blessed the men concerned, something powerful was released in my own ministry.
